Martin Haines DipFA MLIBF

Principal

Martin qualified in engineering going on to study motor trade law, motor
dealer management and business organisation. After a number of years in
motor trade management he decided on a career change and joined the
insurance industry.

After a decade working mainly for large insurance companies he formed
his own independent financial planning business in 1990 primarily working
with individuals and small to medium size businesses including a number of
dental surgeons.

In 1994 the business decision was made to specialise in dental related
financial advice working exclusively with dental surgeons. This included
a realisation that to provide a fully integrated and holistic financial plan a
knowledge of how a dental practice actually functions was essential. The
following six years were occupied working with dentist only providers which
included a specialist dentist only IFA, a specialist dentist only accountant and
Denplan.

Having acquired sufficient knowledge to advise dentists effectively on both
financial and business/practice matters Dental Financial Associates was
formed in 2001 working exclusively with dentists on a fees rather than a
commission basis more than a decade before the regulators imposed a fee-
based proposition on all IFA’s.

Having created a business that has clients and staff that are a joy to work
with Martin’s out of work interests include family, which now includes seven
grandchildren, church, cycling, skiing, sailing and keeping fit enough to do all
of them effectively

Paul Haines DipFA MLIBF

Adviser

Paul has over 10 years’ experience working in the Financial Planning sector exclusively for the dental profession.

He holds a Diploma in Financial Advice (DipFA) and continues to expand his knowledge through additional exams. Whilst advising on all aspects of financial planning, Paul has particular interest in pensions, savings and investments.

Paul says “Good financial planning should provide options for clients where they may not have had any. It could be a surviving spouse being able to bring up their family without financial difficulty because they had the right protection in place, or a retiree having the income they require to enjoy a good standard of living in retirement. Careful planning is essential to making sure clients can realise their dreams whilst having peace of mind that they’re protected if the worst should happen.”

In his spare time Paul loves to spend time with his wife and children. He also enjoys mountain biking (even competing in the odd race), cooking, scuba diving and attending music festivals whatever the weather!

Jamie Rice DipPFS

Paraplanner

Jamie joined us in July 2021 as a Paraplanner.  He has worked in Financial Services since 2008 and has provided comprehensive financial planning, pension, investment and tax planning advice to Private Clients. His previous experience as a Financial Adviser enabled him to help people really understand building up to retirement and then enjoying this right through to later life.

He is married to Gemma, they have a young son Sebastian and they are the primary carers for his Grandmother.  Outside of this, he enjoys Golf and Football.

Jamie says “I was taught that Money is a tool, a very useful tool, but a tool nonetheless. When Money stops becoming the tool and becomes the goal, we can lose sight of what’s important. Being the person that can help to refocus that perspective is what makes my role so satisfying. I look forward to helping our clients in identifying and chasing their own life goals.”
